The military expansion of Mongols in the 13th century affected the history of the peoples of Eurasia. A significant part of Eurasia was under the power of Genghis Khan and his successors, including the state of Khorezm (Khwarezm). The last Khwarezm-Shah, Jalal ad-Din Mingburnu (reigned 1220–31), was defeated by the Mongols in 1231 and his territories were taken over by them. However he fought Genghis Khan for six years and prevented the Mongols from moving further west. This book is a detailed biography of Jalal ad-Din Mingburnu, the first one on this subject in Russia.
