The chronicle of 1408, known as the Troitsk Chronicle, was the first all-Russian repository which incorporated the chronicles of many other towns. Some of these have not survived. M.D. Priselkov (1881-1941) was a historian of Old Russia and, in particular, of the creation of the Russian chronicles (letopisi). The book consists of two parts. In the first the author explains his work on reconstruction of the burned out Troitsk Chronicle. The second include the reconstructed version of the chronicle with references to its different versions and their sources. The work is provided with modern citations, bibliographic references on the subject, and indices.
