This analytical report focuses on the military aspects of the war started by Russian government in Chechnia in December 1994. It consists of four chapters. Chapter I "Prehistory of the conflict in Chechnia" gives details on how General Dudaev got arms and what kinds of arms he obtained, and how much weapons were left in Chechnia. Chapter II " Military Actions in Chechnia" describes how the army was ready for this campaign, the course of operations, illegal military units, analysis of operation by different kinds of military (rod voisk), the Russian military industrial complex and the war.
