Language: Russian and Church SlavonicThis encyclopedia is a collection of the personal library of Father Superior Kirill (1337-1427) who founded his own Assumption (Uspenskii) monastery in 1397 in Belozer`e. The monastery became the largest center of spiritual life during that period. Kirill was one of the most educated people of his time and provided spiritual guidance to many people, including Russian princes. The collection is provided with extended comments (pp. 235-391), the four most important texts are translated into modern Russian. The collection contains materials of various natures: Church canonical texts, manuscripts on nature, medicine, history, polemics, hymnography, poetry, etc. This encyclopedia is based on one of the collections of the Russian National Library in St. Petersburg.
