This book includes three parts. The first is articles on the history of Russian literature of the nineteenth century by Anna Zhuravleva, professor of literature at Moscow State University. They are about Pushkin, Ostrovskii, Saltykov-Shchedrin, Tiutchev, "literocentrism`, illusions and afflictions of Russian literature and at the same time of Russian cultural consciousness of that time. The second part includes articles about theater and literature written together by A. Zhurvaleva and poet and critic Vsevolod Nekrasov. Part three embraces verses, letters and articles on art by V. Nekrasov. Vsevolod Nekrasov was personally involved in underground artistic movement of 1950-1990s; he was a collector of this art and organizer of the first personal exhibition of Oscar Rubin.
