Foraging population of the sea of Japan during the late Pleistocene-early Holocene Ed. by A.P. Derevianko, N.A. Kononenko
Novosibirsk: In-t Arkheologii i Etnografii, 2003 175 p pbk. 20 x 27.5 cm. Printing 500 ISBN: 5780300941 Language: RussianIn last decade of the 20th century splendid discoveries have been made in East Asia, which change our ideas of ancient man and his adaptive abilities. A number of sites found and studied by professor T. Serizawa`s followers in Japan, substantially demonstrate that ancient population reached the eastern edge of the Asian continent very early. One possible route of these people could have been the vast territory of Southern and Eastern Siberia and Mongolia. This monograph summarizes the results of many years of mutual Russian-Japanese archeological expeditions excavating a late Paleolithic site in Primorye. The scholars recreated processes of cultural and ecological adaptation and connections of a foraging population in the sea of Japan with other populations during the late Pleistocene-early Holocene. Bibliography. Summary in English.
