Among the outstanding masters were: Carl Faberge (1846-1920), P. Ovchinnikov, and I. Khlebnikov. The history of this art in Russia begins when Gustav Faberge started his gold and silver work business in St. Petersburg in 1848, and then expanded it to several of the largest cities of Russia.
