This book embraces the literary legacy of the great Russian actor, director and teacher Michael Chekhov (1891-1955). It consists of four parts. The first includes his memoirs: An Actor`s Way (Put` Aktera), Life and Encounters, Memoirs about Rakhmaninov. An Actor`s Way was written and published as a book at the peak of his fame in Russia, before he left Russia in 1928. The second memoir was written in the early 1940s. Part two contains his letters (166). Part three includes his thoughts about the profession of acting. The last chapter consists of memoirs about M. Chekhov by his colleagues M. Knebel` and O.
