The first Russian Uchreditel`noe Sobranie (Constituent Assembly, or Constituanta) was called at the end of 1917-early 1918 to legitimize a new form of political system, but this experiment was interrupted by the Bolsheviks. This first chapter of a teaching aid covers the history of the idea of Russian Constituata, its implementation, fates of its members after its dissolution, and of attempts to reanimate this organ during Perestroika and post-Perestroika periods. The second chapter contains interesting documents of the Uchereditel`noe Sobranie.
