[ Eduard Bagritskii: Verse and poems]
Comp. by G.A. Moreva; introd. by M.A. Kuzmin; afterword by M.D. Shraer
St. Petersburg: Akademicheskii Proekt, 2000 300 p Hardcover. 10.5 x 16.5 cm ISBN: 5733102179 Language: RussianThis book contains the most significant poetical works of Eduard Bagritskii (1895-1934), including his books published during his life as well as twenty five unpublished poems. The book begins with an article by Mikhail Kuzmin in 1933 in which he looks at the new soviet poetry from the perspective of the Silver Age. Maksim Shraer analyzes in an afterword the myth about Bagritskii created by the official soviet critics which ignored many motifs of his poetry that did not fit his official image (pp. 229-266). One of them was his Jewish roots and their influence on his poetry, self-vision, and dreams. Comments, index.
