This is the twelfth volume of the annual almanac which aims to continue the tradition of publications on Russian history particularly the series "Russian Archive" edited by Petr Bartenev, last published in 1917. The almanac contains memoirs, diaries, letters, literary and philosophical works, rare photos, personalities, bibliography, genealogy, and more. Many documents are published for the first time. All of them are published unabridged. Name index, comments. Started in 1991. The new series which began with the eleventh issue has changed only its cover design but not its structure or editorial principles. A limited number of the previous volumes and standing order are available.
