This is proceedings of the conference held in 2001 in city of Kazan`. The conference is organized within the research project "The History of the Tatars from Ancient Times". Contributors to this collection, scholars of the Academic Institute of History (Tatarstan), are also contributors to the first volume of this project which deals with nomadic peoples of Eurasia in Ancient Times. The collection consists of 13 articles about Old Turks, their culture, rituals, beliefs, and their ties with other nomadic peoples.
