The Russian-American historian G.V. Vernadskii (1887-1973) was the son of a famous scientist, philosopher, and public figure, V.I. Vernadskii (1863-1945). He made significant contributions to the creation of the American school of Slavic Studies. In 1920 he emigrated to Prague and entered the circle of Russian "Eurasians". In this late book the historian briefly characterizes many Russian 18th-20th century writers, art historians, students of literature, scientists, general historians, theologians, etc. who helped to shape Russian historical thought.
