This collective monograph studies the psychological, cultural, sociological, and ethno-historical attributes of ruling. The book singles out such patterns of ruling as suggestion, imitation, custom, prohibitions and establishes their historical continuity through tradition. It shows how anomalous peculiarities of rulers are perceived as tokens of their superiority. The authors study standard types of charismatic leaders` abnormal behavior. They show that leadership originates in mediation, and that governance in an informal group can be implemented without a leader. Primary archetypes and modes of ruling are formulated.
