This history of Prokhorovs manufacture was compiled by Petr Terent`ev, the director of the professional school of this business. It was prepared for presentation at the world exposition in Paris of 1900. The manufacture was started in 1799 by the former serf Vasilii Prokhorov who soon became one of the largest Russian textile producers. The book narrates over one hundred years diversified business of the Trekhgorka and about the social and charitable activities of the Prokhorovs for three generations.
