Moscow: In-t Etnologii I Antropologii im. Miklukho-Maklaia, 1997 155 p Serie: Biblioteka Rossiiskogo Etnografa pbk ISBN: No ISBN ISSN: ISSN 0868-586X Language: Russian and Komi
This publication includes autobiographical writings and drawings of I.S. Rassykhaev (1878-1968), a self-taught Komi peasant enlightener. The Komi republic is a territory in the North-West Ural mountain inhabited by the Komi, a Finnish people. The book pictures the relationships in a peasant family, recounts the facts of the destruction of the Russian peasantry during collectivization, and reflects the author`s religious mysticism. Parts of the diary are alternatively written in Russian and a Komi dialect (translation supplied by editors). Supplements include Rassykhaev`s dates of life, a genealogical tree of his family, his narration of literary texts, lists of his works and extracts he copied from various sources.
