This monograph studies the manuscript by the Byzantine merchant Koz`ma Indikoplov in which he writes about the structure of the universe, his ethnographical observations, available information on Biblical and Christian archeology. This manuscript was widely distributed in Old Russia. The author studies the history of the translation and distribution of the text in Old Rus, methodological problems of its translations, and offers her translation of the manuscript. The book contains fragments of the Christian Topography in Old Russian, indices, and bibliography.
