Prince of Novgorod and Grand Duke of Vladimir Aleksandr Nevskii (1220-1263) came to Russian history as the victor in two important battles: the first over the Swedes at the Neva River in 1240 and the second over the German knights at the Chud` Lake in 1242. This book includes several works about Nevskii. The first one (pp. 11-113) is by emigre Russian historian N. Klepinin (1899-) first published in 1927. Also included are works about the Grand Duke by modern Russian historians: A. Degtiarev, A. Fedotov, Iu. Krivosheev, V. Romaniv, P. Rykin, and R. Sokolov. Chronology of Nevskii`s life.
