Nikita Khrushchev (1894-1971) was first secretary of TsK KPSS, the leader of the party and government in the period 1958-1964. A controversial figure who, on one hand, first revealed the truth about Stalin`s repressions and, on the other, initiated the Cuban missile crisis, which almost started a third world war. This is an abridged version of the memoirs written in 1967-1971.
