In the 14th century, when the Golden Horde was disintegrating, there developed strong tendencies towards consolidation of the Christian population, and separate principalities were established in the West. One of those principalities was the cave churches of Feodoro. The authors attribute them to the 14th-15th centuries, basing their conclusions on all available architectural and written sources.
