[ Mongolian Rus: Chingis Khan and the Mongol sphere]
Comp. by D. Taratorin
Moscow: Agraf, 2002 Serie: Novaia istoriia ISBN: 5778401957 Language: Russian
This book by one of the bright representatives of the Eurasian movement is quite unique. Erendzen Khara-Davan, a Kalmyk by nationality, along with many of the intelligentsia found himself in emigration after the revolution of 1917. Unlike scholars before him, Khara-Davan grasped the historic mission of the emperor Chingis Khan, and cleared his reputation away from `bloody tyrant`, `destroyer`, or `barbarian`. The biography showed how he created the Mongolian empire, his historic marches to China, Middle Asia, Europe, and Rus. The author gives numerous examples of how the Chingis Khan`s rule brought further cultural development to the countries of the so called Old World.
