During these years he started a documentary novel about the people of Siberia, gold miners, hunters, prisoners, citizens of the two big cities Tomsk and Omsk, that has never been finished. This is the first publication of the novel together with his letters, articles, and other materials related to the novel. Altogether they contain interesting information about Siberia at that time. Also included are several essays by N.M. Iadrintsev and N.I. Naumov. Commentary.
