Al`bert Vainshtein (1892-1970), a well known Russian economist and statistician, was one of the very few economists of the so called "old school" who survived the Stalinist era. He trained many leading Russian economists of the next generation, including the academician Tatyana Zaslavskaia. The first volume of Vainstein`s selected works includes works of the 1920s with his analysis of the Russian agrarian situation and of the main economic indicators of 1923-1926. Volume two contains works about national wealth and income, price formation in the recovery period of 1921-1928. There are also several articles on comparative international studies. The last chapter is memoirs about Al`bert Vainshtein, and a list of his works. Name and subject indices.
