This is the most complete collection of inscriptions made by Old Russian scribes, painters and bookbinders on parchment manuscripts in the 11th-14th centuries. It contains 515 inscriptions written in Cyrillic and Glagolithic. For all of them the author, a well known Russian medievalist, gives a new interpretation and/or attribution. Every inscription is published first in its original orthography then in Russian, and provided with extensive bibliographic, historical and geographical comments and paleographic notes.
