This is the most complete collection of letters of the outstanding Russian writer Boris Pil`niak (Vogau) (1894-1938). His successful literary life changed in 1926 after he published the story Povest` Nepogashennoi Luny (The Tale of the Unextinguished Moon) where he was the first to reveal the Stalin cult in the story of the assassination of Frunze. In 1937 he was arrested and shot. This collection of 269 letters was compiled and commented by his son, the writer, historian, and playwright B.B. Andronikashvili-Pil`niak (1934-1996).
