This book is about "power" as a social concept. It is based on the author`s two doctoral theses at Manchester University (UK) and the Ivanovo State University (Russia)). It contains a conceptual and typological analysis of power, its main interpretations of power meaning and forms. The concept of power proposed in the book can be generally referred to the mainstream tradition associated with Weber, Dahl, Blau, and Lukas. However, the author`s theory differs substantially from the traditional view in several main respects. This is a Russian version of the book recently published by Nova Science Publishers (New York) in 1998.
