This book opens a new series Russia Forgotten and Unknown. It describes ceremonies of Russian high society and of the imperial court: imperial visits, horse carousels, balls, masquerades, diplomatic receptions, etc. The author is focused not only on appearance, but also on inner moral and traditional rules and norms of the ceremony, in other words, on its spirit and soul.
