Vera Zasilich (1849-1919) was a Russian Menshevik writer and revolutionary. She shot and seriously wounded the governor of St. Petersburg Trepov in 1878. At her widely publicized trial the sympathetic jury found Zasulich not guilty. This book includes the resume of a famous Russian lawyer Anatolii Koni who defended Zasulich, and his memoirs about this case.
