This monograph is the first one in Russian historiography which describes in detail the crisis in the relations between Russia and Livonia at the last quarter of the 15th century. The Hansa, a trade union of German cities was the main middleman among the central, eastern and northern parts of Europe in the 14th-15th centuries. The Russian city of Novgorod was of the main partners of the Hansa. The Hansan court at Novgorod was closed, many "German" merchants were arrested. The situation developed towards war on the eve of the 16th century. The author analyzes the sources of the conflict. (0.705 kg.)
