Grigorii Kotoshin (b. 1630?) was a clerk (pod"iachii) in the government of Russian Tsar Aleksei Mikhilovich (1645-1676). He wrote a manuscript about the Russian government structure and its work, budget, armies, local authorities, the court life style of his time, and more. This publication of the manuscript is based on the edition of 1906. The text was translated into modern Russian, provided with an extensive introduction about the history of this text, commentaries and vocabulary by professor G.A. Leont`eva. Richly illustrated.
