Nikolai Fedorovich Findeizen (1868-1928) was a historian and critic of Russian music, founder and editor of Russkaia Muzykal`naia Gazeta (1894-1918), and author of 27 books, including a biography of Glinka. Findeizen also left diaries in which he described his childhood, his years in the St. Petersburg commerce school, the beginning of his career as a music critic and journalist. His memoirs recreate the musical life of St. Petersburg in the 1870-1880s. Comments, name index. 22 illustrations. Also available Findeizen`s memoirs for 1892-1901.
