Nikolai Fedorovich Findeizen (1868-1928) was a historian and critic of Russian music, founder and editor of Russkaia Muzykal`naia Gazeta (1894-1918), and author of 27 books, including a biography of Glinka. Findeizen also left diaries in which he described his childhood, his years in the St. Petersburg commerce school, the beginning of his career as a music critic and journalist.
