This book tells about the confused story of the so called "Shvernik Commission" created by Khrushchev to investigate the assassination of Kirov. The commission consisted of Suslov as chairman, Rudenko, Shvernik, Shelepin and the former convict Ol`ga Shatunovskaia. Shatunovskaia was the main force of the interrogation, while the rest did their best to prevent the truth from coming out. Many of the case documents disappeared in the course of the work. This book is a story about this story as told to the author by Shatunovskaia.
