This is a biography of Vasilii Shul`gin (1878-1976), a popular leader, writer and journalist of Tsarist Russia and the "White Movement" in emigration. He became involved with the Russian secret police in the early 1920s and directly in the covert operation "Trest" (after the exposure of Sydney George Reilly).
