General Anton Denikin (1872-1947) distinguished himself in the First World War and the Russo-Japanese War, and later became one of the leaders of the White Cause. This is the second volume of his four-volume documentary epic of the Time of Troubles in Russia in 1917-1919. It is about the case of Lavr Kornilov (1870-1918), the commander-in-chief of the Russian Army in July-August, 1917, who was the leader of a mutiny in August 1917 to establish a dictatorship which was suppressed by the Bolsheviks.
