Agrarnyi Stroi v Rossii
Proshloe, Nastoiashchee, Budushchee
[ Agrarian order in Russian : Past, present and future]
St. Petersburg: SPbGUEF, 1999 316 p pbk. 13 x 20 cm. Printing 300 ISBN: 5731011281 Language: RussianThis collected work was written by well known Russian economists who specialized in agrarian or peasant studies. It commemorates the 100th anniversary of their two outstanding colleagues: V. Venzher (1899-1990) and A. Sanina. Venzher and Sanina, strong but critically thinking Marxists, dared to start an argument in written form with Josef Stalin in 1952 about the kolkhozes and forms of collectivization of the agrarian system. Who knows whether the economists would have survived if this did not happen just before Stalin`s death. The argument between Stalin and economists is included in this book. The rest of the book is taken by articles of modern economists discussing the past, the present and possible future of collective farms as well other possible organizational forms of the Russian agrarian sector.
