Vladimir ( Ze`ev ) Jabotinsky ( 1880-1940 ) was a famous Jewish writer, poet, translator, and social activist, who played a prominent role in the Zionist movement He was born and lived a long time in Odessa, was educated at the universities of Bern and Rome. Wrote mostly in Russian and Hebrew. The lyrical novel by Vladimir Jabotinsky, " Five," first published in Paris in 1936, reads like a declaration of love for Odessa. The story of the Milgrom couple and their children is like a mirror, reflecting the fate of Russian Jewry of the last century. The heroes are young, full of life and hope, and so do not believe that their fate would be cruel.
