This is the first publication of an autobiographical novel by one of the leaders of the White Movement, the ataman Petr Krasnov (1869-1947) written in 1936 in which he foresaw his tragic end. He was captured by agents of the NKVD and by force returned to the USSR for a show trial. After the novel was first published in Paris, it was proclaimed as a slander on the soviet history, and was never published again until now. Also available Krasnov`s book about the assassination of the Russian Tsar Aleksandr II (Tsareubiitsy, 1995); Istoriia Donskogo Kazachestva: Ocherki Istorii Voiska Donskogo. (2007); Nenavist` (2007).
