[ Why should one need money : A Chronicle of the Riabushinskii merchant family]
Moscow: TERRA, Ekonomicheskaia Gazeta, 1996 447 p Serie: Predprinimateli Rossii Hardcover. 12.5 x 20 cm ISBN: 5300003689 Language: Russian
This is a documentary novel about the formative years of the Russian merchant dynasty of the Riabushinskiis (the years described are 1854-1855). Pavel Rabushinskii (1871-1924), banker and industrialist, was later a member of the central committee "Party of 17th October". The topic of merchants` work and everyday living was largely ignored by Russian writers, and whatever evidence the surfaced was mostly anecdotal. The author addresses the subject in an effort to stimulate a traditionally insubstantial interest.
