Vladimir Isakov, a professor of law and former chairman of the Republic Council of the Supreme Soviet (1990-91), wrote a chronicle of the events that ended the existence of the Soviet Union in 1991 from July to December. He has restored all the participants and their actions day by day leading to the historical agreement between the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Belorussia at Belovezh`e. The book contains all the main documents of the three former republics and the newly created independent countries, which legalized the dismemberment of the USSR. The author claims that it was the result of gambling for power, property, the presidency and other government offices and privileges. Bibliography. (0.375 kg.)
