This is a biography of Russian military leader Aleksandr Mikhailovich Vasilevskii (1895-1977). The author also analyzes his contribution to the Russian victory of over Germany as the head of the general staff (1942-45), in the Russian-Japanese war as the commander-in-chief of the local army, and later in strengthening the defenses of the USSR as the defense minister (1949-53).
