Ivan Tkhorzhevskii, (1878-1951), was an assistant of the Russian prime-minister S.Iu. Vitte (1849-1915) and later of P.A. Stolypin (1862-1911). He accompanied Stolypin in his trip to Siberia as part of the preparation for the new agrarian reform. This book contains his memoirs about St Petersburg life before the revolution. Tkhorzhevskii had a poet`s talent. A supplement includes his own poetry and translations of world famous poets first published in emigration. Commentary.
