Aleksei Naval’nyi, a lawyer by profession, is a Russian political and social activist who in recent years has risen to prominence among Russian bloggers and mass media. He uses his popular LiveJournal blog to organize serial large-scale petitions by Russian citizens addressing issues mainly related to the widespread corruption in Russia, demanding the enforcement of Russian laws which appear to be widely ignored by top Russian officials and state-controlled businesses. He was one of organizers of the protest meetings in Moscow and around Russia "For Honest Elections" in December 2011. The book is a description of the cases, initiated and commented by Naval`nyi.
