This is a biography of Abram Gannibal (Abraham Hanibal), a god-child of Peter the Great, and great grandfather of the poet Aleksandr Pushkin. This biography, written by an African scholar, is based on a new version of Gannibal`s ancestors. According to Gnammankou, Abraham was born in the kingdom of Logone-Birni in the central Sudan, in the north of the current state of Cameroon. The book narrates the life story of this extraordinary man, military engineer and statesman. Supplements include memoirs by Ganibal and about him written by A. Pushkin.
