The Russian hereditary nobleman Mikhail Illarionovich Golenishchev- Kutuzov (1745-1813) a general field marshal, who was a pupil of Suvorov, distinguished himself in the seizure of the city of Izmail. He was the chief commander in the Russian-French war of 1812, and crushed Napoleon`s army.
