Unfortunately, there are very few documents which would permit scholars to describe the economics of the region. The author used old treasure and coin collections as a source of information. This monograph heavily uses statistical methods to make conclusions about monetary production and circulation in this region in the 13th-15th centuries. Analysis of numismatic materials helped the author make conclusions on the dating of certain archeological material, and identify trends in the region`s economy, politics, and demography.
