The mission of this institute is to study and spread the texts and ideas of Russian philosopher Mikhail Aleksandrovich Lifshits (1905-1983). This book is a discussion among several members of the Institute on the issue of realistic images in modern art, mostly between two artists D. Gutov (b. 1960) and A. Osmolovskii (b. 1969).
