Pavel Shchegolev (1877-1931), is the author of over 600 literary works, including the literary mystification Vyrubova`s Diary (in cooperation with A.N. Tolstoi). He was also a scholar, publisher and an editor of the magazine “Byloe", the first periodical on the history of liberation movements in Russia. This is a collection of his essays about Pushkin in their early, pre-revolutionary versions. The collection includes five works: "The Secret Love" of A.S.
