His successful literary life changed in 1926 after he published the story Povest` Nepogashennoi Luny (The Tale of the Unextinguished Moon) where he was the first to reveal the Stalin cult in the story of the assassination of Frunze. In 1937 he was arrested and shot. This is the first collection after an almost seventy year break, and it includes Pil`niak`s works free of cuts and censorship distortion.
