This is the second edition of the first book in the series Skazki Doktora Levita. Il`ia Levit (b. 1948), born in Russia, has lived in Israel since 1979. The series studies the history of Zionism through biographies of the leaders of the movement. The current book is a biography of an officer of the Russian army, a cavilier of all three St. George orders, and national hero of Israel, Joseph Trumpeldorf (1880-1920). He helped organize the Zion Mule Corps and bring Jewish immigrants to the Land of Israel. The second book in the series, From Andalusia to New York, and the third, V Rechi Pospolitoi, are also available.
